"Working Everyday To Build A Stronger Economy And A Brighter Future For Our Families".
The sole purpose of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The organization provides children with the hope for better times, the strength for the tough times and the joy to experience the present. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut has granted over 1,500 wishes since our founding in 1986.
The Connecticut Laborers' District Council joined the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut to hold the "Annual Bouquet of Wishes Gala" on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Grand Ballroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Over $300,000 was raised while over 700 were in attendance.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut is part of the nation's largest and most well-established wish-granting organization, with chapters and volunteers throughout the U.S. and abroad. The organization draws on that strength, as well as its vast local network, to make a child's dream a vivid and memorable reality. Every fulfilled wish represents a unique collaboration between wish families, medical professionals, volunteers and donors. The Make-A-Wish Foundation provides the structure, but it is the child's request that determines what we will do.
Below are pictures from the recent Gala where over 100 members attended the event from the Connecticut Laborers' District Council, New York State Laborers' and Laborers' International Union of North America.
