(Hartford, CT) – The Connecticut Laborers’ District Council, which represents a variety of local union offices in Connecticut including Laborers’ Local 200 and Laborers’ Local 665 in Bridgeport, CT, today congratulated Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch on his recent primary win and requested that other labor unions in Connecticut endorse his reelection efforts and involve union members in getting out the vote on Election Day, November 6, 2011.
“I would like to congratulate Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch on his recent primary win on behalf of all Laborers’ union members in Connecticut. Now, I would like to see a broader endorsement of the mayor’s candidacy by more labor organizations in the state and more involvement by union workers in getting the vote out on November 6th,” said Charles LeConche, business manager, Connecticut Laborers’ District Council. “After all, Bill has proven already that he’s a true leader and friend to all hard-working families in Connecticut.”
In late September 2011, Iron Workers Union Local 424, Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 40 and the United Union Of Roofers, Waterproofers And Allied Workers Local 12 each announced endorsements of Mayor Bill Finch in his bid for reelection.
