(Hartford, Connecticut) --Two Connecticut construction labor leaders are being recognized by the Boy Scouts of America, Connecticut Yankee Council for their
outstanding leadership and community service at a luncheon at the Aqua Turf Club, 556 Mulberry Street, Plantsville, CT, on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Recipients of The Construction Industry's 2009 Good Scout Award are Charles
LeConche, business manager, Connecticut Laborers' District Council, and John
Farnham, executive director, Associated General Contractors of Connecticut.
LeConche and Farnham were selected by a panel of their peers as "Good
Scouts" for their outstanding community service as evidenced by their
interest and leadership in many worthwhile organizations as well as the respect
and esteem in which they are held by their colleagues. The event's co-chairmen
are John W. Butts, assistant executive director, Associated General Contractors
of Connecticut, and John W. Olsen, president, Connecticut AFL-CIO.
The annual Construction Industry's Good Scout Award Luncheon helps support
programs and opportunities for more than 25,000 Connecticut young people
enrolled in scouting programs in Fairfield and New Haven Counties and parts of
Hartford County.
