Connecticut Construction Workers Gather For Important Community Protest This Morning In Plainville, CT Against Mizzy Construction, Inc.

Questions Are Raised About Mizzy Construction’s Lack Of Support For Area Standards, Wage & Benefits Practices In Connection With Connecticut Natural Gas & Other Utility Work

(Hartford, CT) -- Connecticut construction workers will be holding a major protest action in front of the headquarters of Mizzy Construction, 463 East Street, Plainville, CT, this Thursday morning, December 3, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Connecticut Laborers’ District Council, along with other building and construction trades, have raised a number of questions about Mizzy Construction’s work practices, support for area standards and prevailing wage laws.

“We are requesting that authorities at Connecticut Natural Gas review its relationship with Mizzy Construction. As a public utility and public company, CNG has a responsibility to support our community and Connecticut families by hiring construction companies that follow area standards, support prevailing wage laws and do not undermine the local economy,” said Charles LeConche, business manager, Connecticut Laborers’ District Council. “This situation is a real disgrace to each and every CNG stockholder and to all Connecticut workers in general. This is why, by popular request – ‘Rocky The Rat’ – a huge 20 ft. rat will be making an appearance this Wednesday morning in front of the Mizzy Construction offices along with the Connecticut construction workers. During this holiday season, Mizzy Construction should be considered as the ‘Grinch That Stole Christmas’ to all Connecticut workers.”

According to its Web site, Mizzy Construction, Plainville, CT, is headed by its President Stanley Mierzejewski, and is a construction site development company providing site demolition, foundation preparation, septic and sanitary services, water main services and variety of other related services. Mizzy Construction is located at 463 East Street, Plainville, Connecticut, phone (860) 793-2289 or (860) 747-3173, stanley@mizzyconstruction.com or mizzy@mizzyconstruction.com.
